Meet Your Hosts

The Wagner Family

At the 1000 Islands/Kingston KOA we want to make sure that everyone has a great time. When you camp with us you are not only our guests, but also our family.

The Wagner Family are the host family of the award winning 1000 Islands/Kingston KOA at the beginning of the beautiful 1000 Islands region. Patrick, a Psychology major, and Amanda, a CYW and PSW, are determined to make sure that every camper has an amazing experience when they are their guests. "We both take a very personal approach to the campground and try to meet with each of our guests to make sure that they are enjoying their time with us", said Patrick.

Patrick is originally from Germany and has lived in Germany, the U.S.A. and Canada. Patrick has been camping at KOA's since he was 5 years old. "I remember sitting in class when I was very young not being able to pay attention to my teacher because I knew that by 6 o'clock that night I would be sitting by the campfire roasting marshmallows", Patrick said. "When I heard that we were buying a KOA in Canada, I was so excited. Even though I had to leave my friends and school in California, I knew that it was going to be worthwhile when I could sit by a campfire every night."

Amanda is a native of Gananoque, Ontario and has been camping for many years. "I have always loved the outdoors and really enjoy nature", she said. Amanda has been involved in family businesses her entire life and working with her family is a natural progression. A campground is a perfect environment to raise a family. As a young family, we insure a family-friendly atmosphere where kids have a fun-filled time and cannot wait to return and visit their friends.

The Wagner family have four wonderful children, Lucas (8) and Nathan (6) can usually be found driving their Jeep or electric ATV around the campground, while twins Alexandria and Anastasia (3) are usually helping at activities or trying to play with their brothers.

The entire family loves working at the campground and can't wait to meet the next camper and hear their travel stories.
